Atlanta, GA - Aviation Information Resources (AIR, Inc.), an Atlanta-based pilot career information and counseling service, contracted by Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), have agreed to provide the 240 pilots at Pan AM, which filed bankruptcy February 26, with a job search seminar specifically designed for them, along with a one-year membership in AIR, Inc.’s Airline Pilot Career Development System.

Pan Am’s 240 furloughed pilots are invited to attend the job search seminar located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on March 21, 1998. The seminar will provide the pilots with an industry analysis, job search planning, and interview techniques with Kit Darby, president of AIR, Inc., as the featured speaker. In addition to the seminar, each pilot will be provided with a membership that includes a binder filled with timely, informative material that offers one-stop assistance in their job search. In addition to the material, they will also have access to AIR, Inc.’s 800 career counseling department. The staff of 40 part-time trained pilot counselors are equipped to handle piloting problems and questions, while providing step-by-step interview preps.

“AIR, Inc. will provide Pan Am’s furloughed pilots with the same services we have been providing our own pilot members for over eight years,” said Mr. Darby. AIR, Inc. is in the business of helping pilots lay the groundwork to conduct a successful job search by furnishing prospective airline pilots with up-to-date information and the materials they need to get the airline job they want. “We will be the vital link between the 240 furloughed Pan Am pilots and the 12,000+ airline pilot jobs available in 1998,” Mr. Darby added.
