Animated Ads Pay Off!
When you send an ad, consider an animated one. They aren't difficult to make and the result, provided they are fast loading, can be amazing. For great tips on creating banner ads that are effective, visit Grantastic Designs. Another good source for Web marketing information is WilsonWeb.com.

To be effective, we ask that your animated gif or non-animated banner ad be no more than 10-15k in size depending on the size ad you choose (Ad sizes are listed below the samples).

This allows for a fast loading ad so you won't miss a quick-clicking customer.

Here at AIR, Inc. we use Fireworks and Photoshop to build the separate frames—then Fireworks, Imageready, or GifBuilder to build the animation. There are many other programs out there to assist you with advertising.

Or, if you'd prefer not to do the advertising yourself, we can do the job for you if necessary for a small charge. The minimum is $40 per hour. Discuss the production with Kit Darby to get an exact quote for your ad. Some examples of ads we've created for other companies include:

468 X 60 pixels and 400 X 50 are our standard size (three frames maximum, 15k maximum file size). Other sizes are available including 234 X 60 (three frames maximum, 12k maximum file size), 120 X 90 (three frames maximum, 10k maximum file size), and 125 X 125 (three frames maximum, 10k maximum file size). Graphic Tips
Some things to keep in mind while building your banner ads:

  • Determine your target and address them directly.
  • Keep it short and sweet — grab them with a good benefit, tell them why they should act now, then make sure you remind them to click here.
  • Have your company name or contact number or Web address somewhere prominent in case they do not choose to click right then — make yourself memorable.
  • Decide what type of ad you want to present — selling, image, event promotion.
  • Let the type of ad you choose help determine the color scheme. E.g. Image ads might use your logo and company colors whereas event promotion might concentrate on colors that call for an urgent response.
