"The Airline Pilot Job Monthly and the Airline Pilot Careers magazine have helped to keep me head and shoulders above other people vying for the same jobs. I seemed to be consistently more knowledgeable than my peers when it came to job sector information."

Ask the Counselors
is a regular feature that allows ongoing Q&A sessions between our readers and the professional AIR, Inc. counselors. Current statistics are presented each month in New Hires and Class Surveys so readers can see how they measure up to others who are qualifying and securing interviews and job offers with the major, national, and regional airlines, passenger and cargo.

Many additional topics are covered on a regular basis, including medical issues, regulations, military-to-airline transition, advanced training, and flying the line. Look over the editorial content of Airline Pilot Careers magazine, and you will see why our publication has become the guiding light for those whose ultimate goal is flying for a major or national airline. Seventy percent (70%) of all airline pilots hired in ’05 were AIR, Inc. members.

Pilots seeking an airline career have distinctly different informational needs than those who are learning to fly for fun or operate in the private sector of general aviation.

Targeted Circulation
Pilot hiring by the commercial airlines has seen steady growth over the past several years and AIR, Inc. predicts approximately 83,000 openings over the next 10 years. The pilot demand will be filled by a combination of military pilots and pilots who work their way up in general aviation or enroll in schools or universities with professional pilot programs.

Targeting individual pilots is challenging and requires an ongoing effort to identify and secure distribution that reaches this unique market segment. Because AIR, Inc. is focused exclusively on this segment of the aviation market we are constantly monitoring the activity in both the military and civilian training communities as pilots move toward airline employment.

Unlike any other publication, Airline Pilot Careers reaches all active and reserve military pilots from all branches and duty assignments at least two times each year. We make selections from FAA databases for Medical Examiners, certified flight instructors, military flight clubs, and civilian flight schools.

Mega Market
Every month Airline Pilot Careers magazine reaches 15,000 members and subscribers, as well as a selected revolving audience to ensure complete coverage of pilots making the decision to pursue a professional airline career.

Approximately 2,500 of the 25,000 active duty military pilots separate from military service each year, and most of these individuals are seeking ratings and written exams in preparation for securing their airline position. Once pilots reach 1,000 hours of total flight time with 200 hours of multiengine time, they become competitive for positions with the regional airlines. At this stage they are excellent prospects for advanced training, and a multitude of other products and services that increase and accelerate their career path. This includes ATPs, FEs, writtens and ratings, type ratings, vision improvement, simulator/testing and medical exam preparation, and other services to improve their qualifications and chances of success.

In today’s diverse aviation market, targeting your message will keep your marketing costs down and your sales up. If you are selling to the career-minded pilots, no other publication can target your potential customer with an editorial focus so closely matched to their needs. Advertise in Airline Pilot Careers magazine all year to maximize your exposure to these future airline pilots as their careers progress.
